3. Compression Therapy Precautions & Contraindications
Graduated compression therapy is generally safe for mild circulation support, but it carries clinical contraindications. You should never begin compression therapy without prior clinical evaluation if you have:

- Uncontrolled congestive heart failure (CHF) or pulmonary edema
- Severe peripheral neuropathy or loss of sensation in the feet/lower legs
- Active skin infections, cellulitis, weeping dermatosis, or open arterial wounds
- Known allergies to garment fabrics (such as synthetic elastics or silicone grip bands)
4. Accuracy of Measurements & Sizing
While VeinWell provides standardized measuring prompts based on clinical recommendations, measurements recorded by users at home may vary based on tape tension, time of day, and measuring technique. You are advised to verify sizing recommendations with a professional certified compression fitter or licensed clinician.
5. Consult Your Healthcare Professional
Always consult with your primary care doctor, vascular surgeon, or licensed healthcare provider before making any changes to your prescribed compression schedule, exercise routine, or medical treatment plan.
